The COVID-19 pandemic has provoked a complex scenario of multiple crises demanding multidisciplinary solutions. The pandemic has raised major implications for addressing the challenges related to synthetic drugs, especially synthetic opioids. ​​Physical distancing measure for curbing the spread of COVID-19 have challenged national, regional and international responses to the synthetic drug problem. 

This special module provides practical tools and resources to strengthen the responses to synthetic drugs during COVID-19 considering the limitations of social distancing measures. ​The module also contains advice and guidance for the general public on protecting oneself and others from the spread of COVID-19 as well as suggestions for ensuring continuity of care for vulnerable groups.
